The course, The locksmith's ABC: practical course offers comprehensive and practical training on locks, doors and related topics. This course is designed for starters and professionals who want to increase their knowledge and improve their skills in dealing with lock problems and provide customer-focused solutions.
IN DETAIL
Locks are a tricky business. Over the years, we have gained some knowledge and experience. Professionals regularly ask us for advice and we are very happy about that. It is only by looking for information yourself, daring to try and by doing a lot that you can learn something and help people.
Due to the many recurring questions from professionals, BESA came up with the idea of creating a course so that we can inform several people at once.
The aim is that after this course, you will be able to solve customers' problems easily and efficiently. That you will develop knowledge, understanding and feeling so that you only breathe locksmatter.
Valuable dry material will be interspersed with exercises and practical examples.
We start with the doors and locks. We try to keep it practical and simple, yet as comprehensive as possible. There is a very wide range of locks on the market. Even after more than 20 years of experience, we still come across locks we never saw before.
We also share our knowledge on cylinders, locking plans, electronic cylinders, door fittings, handle pins, etc.
At the end, we like to explain our own webshop, a handy online tool for finding the right materials. As well as tips for building a successful business.
The training covers all types of locks and cylinders and their operation. Additional locking and security techniques are also covered.
The full curriculum is theoretically structured and practically demonstrated and applied. This allows each participant to try out everything practically and leaves room for targeted questions to be asked.
Furthermore, we also organise a trip to Germany to do a company visit to some manufacturers. This will give you insights into the entire process from raw material to a finished lock, cylinder or other security product. Each course participant can optionally participate in this company visit in Germany, organised by BESA. More information and dates for (optional) participation in the company visit will follow during the first lessons.

To ensure the quality of the training, we limit registrations to max 16 participants.
Our training centre is located at Fabriekstraat 3 bus 6, 3980 Tessenderlo.
The class series will continue on Mondays and Thursdays from 18:30 to 21:30 and will be taught in Dutch.
Starts on Monday 30 September 2024 to Thursday 27 February 2025, excluding Monday 11 November and Christmas holidays from Monday 23 December to Wednesday 1 January.
